YOGA FOR EVERY BODY
EVERY DAY
When I, Zoey Peake, was first introduced to yoga 15 years ago, I had been a ballet dancer for many years and enjoyed it purely for the athleticism. However, as I have deepened my practice, I have come to find that yoga is not only a great way to work your body physically, while also renewing your mind from everyday stress and anxiety.
I am a graduate of YogaWorks 200-Hour Teacher Training under the instruction of John Gaydos and Heather Seiniger. I am certified with Yoga Alliance and have a Heartsaver First Aid CPR and AED Certification through the American Heart Association.
I believe everyone can do yoga and so I meet each student where they are assessing their needs throughout the class, providing props, and hands-on adjustments when appropriate to strengthen their practice.
I teach the asana practice of Vinyasa yoga. An asana means a comfortable steady position (who doesn’t want that?). Vinyasa means to place a step in a special way. And yoga means to calm the thoughts ruminating in the mind. So, when you walk into my class, you can expect to work toward moving in and out of different positions while trying to stay steady and comfortable so that your mind can become calm. It is not easy, but this is why we practice!
I currently live in Kitsap County, WA with my husband, black lab, Morgan, and Russian blue cat, Lentil. When I’m not teaching yoga you can find me walking my dog, eating a good home-cooked pizza, or cuddling with my family while reading or watching a movie.
